You need three things to start and run a web site:

A domain name (www.mysite.com) is obtained from a registrar. Not all
registrars offer the same services, and the lowest price is not necessarily
the best deal. We can advise you on choosing the registrar and the right
domain name (for example, www.mycompanyname.com is not a good choice,
if you are seeking to perform well on the search engines). We can also
advise on redirecting and URL masking if required and are quite happy
to act as your agent in this regard if you wish.
A hosting service
Essentially a host is a computer where your web site resides, and is
made available to the Internet. There is a large array of hosting services
costing from as little as £6 pm to some charging £800 pa and
more.
